From our Matriarchal spiritual lineage, we knew our mothers held us within, as their ever-protected child. Our strong women of the Gamilaroi Nation would often hold shields in defence of their warrior men at the beginning stages of battle. These shields displayed the mark of Mieay Mieaay (the star system of the seven sisters). After the rein of spears had fallen upon those shields, our wall would open and our men rushed forth, in defence of their land, their Lore and their Sacred.
